Message Some kind of fuel stabilizer is a good idea. My 96 basically sits in the garage all the time, and I started having hot-start problems this summer (8k miles). Put some fuel system cleaner in, used up the tank of old gas, and haven't had any more problems.
Some recommend removing your plugs to squirt some oil on top of the pistons, so they get a nice coat. If you're storing more than a couple of moths, I recomend you do this. Otherwise, the oil drains off surfaces completely, and you start things dry in the spring.
I'm with you, though...it's a PITA, so I'm doing what JRH recommends above now, twice a month.
